Alain Prost began his F1 career in 1980 driving for McLaren. He won his first WDC in 1985 winning 5 races and finishing 20 points ahead of Michele Alboreto. The following year he won the title again but in a much luckier victory. Nigel Mansell was ahead going into the final race and needed to finish fifth to claim the title but a tire blowout led to his retiring and Prost won the race and the title. His third title came in 1989 beating rival Ayrton Senna and his final Championship in 1993.
Michael Schumacher had a long career in Formula One. Starting in 1991 he raced with several teams before joining Ferrari where he head his most success. After retiring once in 2006, he came back for three seasons in 2010 with Mercedes. In that time he took part in 308 races and finished on the podium a record 155 times, as well as winning 91 GPs.
Sebastian Vettel holds the record for the greatest and second-greatest margin of victory. In 2011 Vettel finished with 392 points, 122 ahead of McLaren’s Jenson Button. Two years later he did even better with a season total of 397, 155 ahead of Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso.
